Confession time; I love, love, March's birthstone! Not only is aquamarine a gorgeous color but it's also the month of my beautiful little Sia-pants birthday. The name is from the Roman word "Aqua" meaning water and "mare" meaning sea. The stone represents safety and security and was often worn by sailors for protection and has many links to Neptune, Roman god of the sea. The aquamarine gem is party of the beryl family, which is a mineral that includes other gemstones in it, and that's why you may see some aquamarine stones fall between an emerald and sapphire color.
It is a beautiful stone that carries history and character but more importantly it represents the month my whole world changed. Happy birthday to all of the March babies out there!
